  • 761st Battalion

    Paul Bates ’31

    Paul Bates ’31 was an Economics major and member of the ROTC. He became a colonel in the U.S. Army, where he advocated for the 761st Tank Battalion — the Black Panthers — during WWII. In 2007, McDaniel posthumously honored Colonel Bates with the Trustee Alumni Award, and every spring awards the Bates Award to the most outstanding male graduating senior.

The Center for Experience & Opportunity continues to be accessible to alumni after graduation and serves as a gateway for you to stay connected with current students. Gathering together to celebrate and reminisce among friends and classmates, speaking to students groups, and volunteering to mentor are the best parts of being a Green Terror. In addition to signature events, the Alumni Engagement Office at McDaniel offers a variety of programming (virtual and in-person) throughout the year to engage alumni in the mission of our campus, connecting generations of Green Terrors.   • Trustee Alumni Awards 2026

    Alums recognized for alumni career and service achievement

    Two McDaniel alumni received Trustee Alumni Awards, the highest alumni honor given at McDaniel, during the Trustee-Faculty Dinner held May 8. The 2026 recipients are Maureen Carroll Martin '86, a seasoned editor, writer, and communications professional, and Tyler Wilson '95, P'21, P'23, president of the Kiva Group, which specializes in print communication, advertising, and design.

    McDaniel student musicians perform in annual spring concerts

    April and May are filled with musical performances featuring McDaniel students. For more information about the performances, which are free and open to the public, visit mcdaniel.edu/music-events.
  • Bryan Gately Trustee

    Alum Bryan Gately '83 joins McDaniel College Board of Trustees

    McDaniel College has named Bryan Gately '83 to its Board of Trustees. Gately, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Communication, is currently executive director and banker with J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Baltimore.
