Information for International Graduate Students

Applying for Admission

The following programs meet the residency requirement to study in the United States on an F-1 visa and are currently accepting applications: Data Analytics, M.S. and Human Services Management, M.S.

In addition to the general and program-specific admissions requirements, international applicants must submit the following additional requirements:

Official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination, or DuoLingo.
- To qualify for admission, students must achieve the following scores:
  - TOEFL: 79-80 or higher on the internet-based exam
  - IELTS: 6.0
  - Duolingo: 110
The Certificate of Finances Form
Course-by-course transcript evaluation of completed undergraduate study from any institution of higher education outside the U.S.
- Students earning an undergraduate degree and/or graduate credits from an institution outside the U.S. must submit an official course-by-course transcript evaluation(s) before gaining initial admission to Graduate and Professional Studies at McDaniel. We recommend World Education Services (WES) for your credential evaluation but will accept an evaluation from any National Association of Credential Evaluation Services member.
Students seeking F1 visa status must provide financial support verification, copy of passport, copy of prior I-20's and current Visa if applicable, and I-20 transfer documents. Contact McDaniel's DSO with specific questions.

Curricular Practical Training

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a type of off-campus work permission for F-1 international students who want to gain experience in their fields of study. Currently, McDaniel's Masters in Data Analytics and Masters in Human Services Management are eligible to offer CPT. Learn more about CPT here.
