What is the Transfer Students Pathway?

Students applying to McDaniel College as a transfer student may also apply for admission directly to our B.S.N. program. Transfer students will be required to meet all program prerequisites prior to direct admission. These students will be reviewed for admission to the college as well as for an invitation to interview for the nursing program itself. 

Students from other colleges or universities are eligible to apply to transfer to our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program. 

 

Important Note: Transfer students may apply beginning fall 2026. 

Application Requirements

Minimum GPA

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA from all colleges/universities attended 

Coursework

No grades below a B- in the following courses (if completed): 

  • English Composition 
  • General Chemistry I with lab 
  • Biology I with lab 
  • Statistics 
  • Anatomy and Physiology I and II with lab 
  • Microbiology

Application Essay

Recommended, not required

Official Transcripts

Required from all colleges/universities attended

Letters of Recommendation (Optional)

Preferably from a college professor. Letters of recommendation are optional but strongly suggested. Nursing students are encouraged to submit at least one letter of recommendation.

Nursing Interview The interview is a required component of the Nursing application process.

 Students selected for an interview will receive an email to select an interview date. Interviews will be: 

  • hosted in-person on the McDaniel Campus
  • held by two members of the McDaniel Community
  • conducted in a standard format
  • 20 minutes long
