Lauren Dundes M.H.S., Sc.D.

I joined the Sociology Department in 1996, and now primarily teach Introductory Sociology, the Sociology Capstone, and Criminology, as well as a new course added in Fall 2018 called Decoding Disney. My teaching reflects a multidisciplinary approach that connects theories and concepts to modern day issues. I strive to show students how to develop their interests in a variety of topics. While the Sociology Capstone entails my supervision of student research posters, I am also proud of the 36 papers co-authored with students in a range of academic journals. These papers and the research posters of every graduating senior in Sociology reflect some of the ways that I seek to empower students at McDaniel College.
