Common Ground on the Hill’s “Traditions Weeks” kicks off on Monday, June 28 with virtual opportunities to learn about other cultures. McDaniel College has offered classes, concerts, dances, and galleries on campus as part of Common Ground on the Hill’s “Traditions Weeks” since 1995.

Common Ground on the Hill’s “Traditions Weeks” kicks off on Monday, June 28 with virtual opportunities to learn about other cultures.

The McDaniel College campus has been a venue for classes, concerts, dances, and galleries as part of Common Ground on the Hill’s “Traditions Weeks” since 1995. 

With more than 200 classes available online this year, plus three evening keynote addresses featuring Bolivian artists AnaCe Velasquez and Patricia Rodriguez (June 28), McDaniel associate professor of Sociology Richard Smith '00 (July 5) and Harvard University professor David Carrasco '67 and Appalachian artists Ellen Elmes '69 and Don Elmes '69 (July 12), participants have a chance to learn more about other cultures, including Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
