Faculty and staff celebrated at Seniority Recognition and Arch Awards Ceremony
The McDaniel College community gathered Nov. 19 for the college’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon and to honor 62 faculty and staff who celebrated a combined 920 years of service to the college. Additionally, the three winners of the 2024 Arch Award for Exemplary Staff Service were announced.
The McDaniel College community gathered Nov. 19 for the college’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon along with the Seniority Recognition and Arch Awards Ceremony. The college honored 62 faculty and staff celebrating a combined 920 years of service to McDaniel.
Additionally, the recipients of the 2024 Arch Award for Exemplary Staff Service, which recognizes staff members for outstanding service to the college, were announced at the ceremony.
Many well-deserved congratulations to:
- Blair Cook, campus lock specialist, who has been with the college since 1996;
- Kendra Heard ’98, associate director/coordinator of special programs for Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS), who has been with the college since 2014; and
- Kristin Lister ’85, director of prospect research, who has been with the college since 2002.
Seniority Recognition
Among those celebrating 40 years are Claudia Bowen, senior online graduate adjunct II, Graduate and Professional Studies; and Christianna Leahy, professor, Political Science and International Studies.
Recognized for 35 years is Delmas Wood, senior adjunct lecturer II, Sociology; and 30 years are Mona Kerby, professor, Education; and Debra Lemke, professor, Sociology.
The 25-year celebrants are Rose Blizzard ’02, academic secretary, Psychology; Dave Duree, senior adjunct lecturer II, Music; Suzy Dyer-Gear, senior graduate adjunct lecturer II, Graduate and Professional Studies; Michele Gribben ’87, senior lecturer, Math and Computer Science; Apollo Mian, professor, Physics; and Cathy Orzolek-Kronner ’86, professor, Social Work.
