Dear members of the McDaniel community:

I am deeply saddened to inform you of the tragic loss of a member of our McDaniel family, first-year student Dillan Krebs. We offer our deepest condolences to Dillan’s family, friends and loved ones. Dillan began attending McDaniel this fall and planned to study in our accounting economics program. Details surrounding Dillan’s death are still being determined.

During this period of great loss, we are reminded of the importance of community. Losing a student and member of our college can be very difficult and sudden loss impacts individuals differently. With this in mind, I encourage those students who feel they may need additional support to contact the Wellness Center. In addition to a counselor on-site for students in McDaniel Hall, walk-in appointments are available at the Wellness Center in Winslow Hall from 8:30 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. These extended hours will be available through Wednesday. Students needing academic assistance may contact the Office of Academic Life at academiclife@mcdaniel.edu.

We also encourage employees to seek assistance from our Employee Assistance Program if needed. Valuable resources and self-help tools for employees can be found online at www.bhsonline.com. Enter MCDAN as your username.

This type of tragedy affects all of us. We will keep the campus informed as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,

President Jasken
