Important update regarding classes for the Spring Semester

McDaniel College has made the difficult but necessary decision to move all instruction to an online learning format for the remainder of the Spring Semester. The Office of Residence Life will communicate via email the process for residential students to return to campus to gather the remainder of their belongings. All on-campus events through the end of the Spring semester are now canceled. Further information about Athletics will be distributed following decisions being made by the Centennial Conference. No final decision has yet been made about Commencement. McDaniel remains committed to our students-first mission.

Due to the ever-changing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation and our continued commitment to the health and well-being of our community members, McDaniel College has made the difficult but necessary decision to move all undergraduate and graduate instruction to an online learning format for the remainder of the Spring Semester. Online instruction will still begin Monday, March 23, and we have taken steps to ensure that our students’ education, including access to academic and student support services, is uninterrupted. Information on how to access these services can be found on our website.

Within the week, the Office of Residence Life will communicate via email the process for residential students to return to campus to gather the remainder of their belongings. At this time, the residence halls are still closed to all students who have not already received approval to be on campus. Further information will be forthcoming. Please direct all questions regarding Residence Life to reslife@mcdaniel.edu.

The campus itself remains open on a limited basis and visitors to campus are restricted to those with appointments only. Faculty and staff will be receiving further communication about their options during this time.

In compliance with Governor Hogan’s mandate to limit the size of public gatherings, all on-campus events through the end of the Spring semester are now canceled. These cancellations include cultural events and performances, lectures, and large-format admissions and alumni events. Further information about Athletics will be distributed following decisions being made by the Centennial Conference. No final decision has yet been made about Commencement.
