Kinesiology and Health Sciences majors organize 34th annual Tournament of Champions
Over 100 McDaniel College students, including many student-athletes, teamed up as buddies to more than 100 elementary, middle, and high school students for the 34th annual Tournament of Champions. The event was organized by students in McDaniel’s Adapted Physical Education class in conjunction with Carroll County Public Schools.

The 34th annual Tournament of Champions on Friday, April 11, was the highlight of McDaniel College Athletics weeklong NCAA Division III week celebration.
Over 100 McDaniel College students, including many student-athletes, teamed up as buddies to more than 100 elementary, middle, and high school students for the 34th annual Tournament of Champions on Friday, April 11.
Tournament of Champions is for students with disabilities who need a specialized event to challenge themselves and demonstrate their skills. The event was organized by Kinesiology and Health Sciences majors in McDaniel’s Adapted Physical Education class taught by Education lecturer Linda Kephart ’75, M.S. ’90, in conjunction with Carroll County Public Schools, and was the highlight of McDaniel College Athletics weeklong NCAA Division III week celebration.
The Tournament of Champions Planning Committee consisted of seniors Vaishali Bhatt of Media, Pennsylvania, Kinesiology major and member of McDaniel’s women’s golf team; Hanna Costa of Bayville, New Jersey, Kinesiology major and member of McDaniel’s softball team; Olivia Moskunas of Bel Air, Maryland, Health Sciences major and member of McDaniel’s women’s soccer team; and Jess Weinoldt of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Health Sciences major and member of McDaniel’s women’s soccer and women’s basketball teams; and sophomore Caitlin Boden of Manchester, Maryland, Kinesiology major and member of McDaniel’s softball team.
