McDaniel College students represented Belgium at Model European Union in Washington, D.C.
A delegation of 10 students from McDaniel College participated in the Model European Union 2018 conference Nov. 9–11 in Washington, D.C.
The team represented Belgium and had a briefing at the Embassy of Belgium by the actual diplomats who represent the country. Christianna N. Leahy, chair of the political science and international studies department at McDaniel, accompanied the students.
The Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulation engages students in discussions and debates that are both current and topical on the European Union (EU)’s agenda. Over 100 students from colleges and universities throughout the mid-Atlantic region participate in the simulation.
McDaniel students who participated are Samantha Bouton of Pasadena, Md., Jenae Burell of Baltimore, Cecelia Cellini of Westminster, Md., Jeffery Clark of Westerville, Ohio, Robert Conrad of Weston, Fla., Katherine Donia of Landenberg, Pa., Mario Fernandez De Lima of Knoxville, Tenn., J.E.B. Stuart Myers of Littlestown, Pa., Haley Simmons of Frederick, Md., and Daniel Smith of Lancaster, Pa.
