McDaniel College is included in longtime admissions professional Peter Pitts latest book, "Cool Stuff at Small Colleges." 

McDaniel is highlighted for "programs that are distinctively McDaniel," including the McDaniel Commitment, National Security Fellows, and McDaniel College Budapest; new majors launched since fall 2020, including Writing and Publishing, along with the Popular Literature minor, which Pitts deemed "unexpectedly cool;" plus the McDaniel Environmental Center.
