President Roger Casey leads a SmartTALK conversation with Hollywood producer and 1972 alumnus Jim Wilberger.
President Roger Casey will lead a conversation with Hollywood producer and 1972 alumnus Jim Wilberger on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m., when the McDaniel College SmartTALK series returns to Decker Center Forum. The event is free and open to the public.
Wilberger has produced more than 80 movies, mini-series and television movies, often working as both creative producer and line producer while traveling to filming locations around the globe. Currently head of production at Mission Pictures International, over the course of his career he has produced for the Hallmark Channel, Hulu, Lifetime and other networks, including such titles as “Enchanted Christmas,” “Frankenstein” and “Pandemic.”
As vice president of production for Turner Network Television for more than a decade, he was in-house producer of Ted Turner’s passion projects — large-budget, often historical dramas, including “Nuremburg,” “Riders of the Purple Sage” and “James Dean.” He was a producer of Turner Pictures’ “Gettysburg,” and production executive for “Door to Door,” winner of six Emmys. In the last 10 years, Wilberger has brought McDaniel interns to Los Angeles, where they get experience working with different departments on a movie set.
