Simeon K. Schlossberg, Counseling, M.S.

Simeon K. Schlossberg, associate professor of Counseling at McDaniel College, provides remarks during the graduate ceremony. Schlossberg, who joined the faculty at McDaniel in 1997, has also taught courses in the college’s undergraduate Education department and served as a consultant for Target Community & Educational Services, Inc., in conjunction with the college’s Master of Science in Human Services Management.

Simeon K. Schlossberg joined the faculty at McDaniel College in 1997 and is currently an associate professor of Counseling, teaching Introduction to Counseling and overseeing practicums and internships for graduate students in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. 

Dr. Schlossberg has also taught courses in the college’s undergraduate Education department and served as a consultant for Target Community & Educational Services, Inc., in conjunction with the college’s Master of Science in Human Services Management. He has been involved with various committees at the college and as a faculty mentor. Currently, he is a visitor to the McDaniel College Board of Trustees and sits on the Faculty Advisory Council for the Maryland Higher Education Commission. 

As an author of numerous articles and manuscripts, he has presented at various conferences and professional meetings. 

In addition, Dr. Schlossberg is founder and director of Blue Chair Group, a private clinical practice in Lutherville, Maryland, offering individual and family therapy and couples counseling, along with his wife, Margaret. His specialty is in the treatment of anxiety and depression in adolescents and adults.

He earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Connecticut and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. Dr. Schlossberg previously served as a counselor and clinical supervisor in Connecticut and Philadelphia.

He and his wife live with their four children in the Baltimore area.
