What is Gated Entry Entry?

The Gated Entry Pathway is for students who are undecided about their major and students who are not granted direct entry into the Nursing Program. Students who are considering this pathway are encouraged to enter the Health Sciences major in the Nursing Track.  For these students, admission to the Nursing program is a two-step process.

Application Process

Applicants must be currently enrolled at McDaniel College
Due to the structured nature of the Nursing major, we encourage all students to reach out to an advisor if they are even considering Nursing as a possible academic path. This will allow for appropriate advising.

Submit a McDaniel Nursing Program Application
Following the end of the third semester, students will complete an application to the Nursing program itself. If admitted, they would begin their Nursing major the following fall (beginning of the third year) upon successful completion of all prerequisite courses with a grade of B- or better.
