Beth Aitken Ph.D.

I am an avid learner who is thrilled with new opportunities to learn and engage in the world. I earned a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Elementary Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. I earned an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum Theory and Instruction at the University of Maryland, College Park. After 30+ years in K-12 and higher education, I earned my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College. I earned my Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license from the state of Maryland where I now have a private practice serving the needs of adults and couples. I am a certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist and have received additional training and certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Trauma. I currently serve as the Program Coordinator for the Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs at McDaniel.
