"I was lucky in that a lot of the programs that are really strong at McDaniel are the ones that I was the most interested in."
"I’ve always had such a great love for my culture and people, so I thought ‘what if I could find a way to combine these two interests together and create my own business?’” she says. “I’ve always known I wanted to create something that celebrated Black culture, but the idea to do this with candles was something that was relatively new to me."
“It’s never too late to make a change. If you’re going into something now, and that’s what you’re passionate about doing, there’s nothing wrong with following that path, while knowing that it’s okay that it may change later."
