    Student and faculty awards presented at Graduate Commencement

    Three special awards were presented during the May 18 Graduate Commencement ceremony. One student award was given to a master’s degree recipient in McDaniel’s Deaf Education program, while two faculty awards were presented to an assistant professor in the Counseling program and a senior online graduate adjunct lecturer in the Special Education program.

    McDaniel celebrates 154th Commencement on Saturday, May 18

    McDaniel College celebrates its 154th Commencement for the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 18. The graduate ceremony begins at 10 a.m., followed by the undergraduate ceremony at 2 p.m. Both ceremonies take place in the college’s Gill Center. A live stream of both ceremonies will also be available online at mcdaniel.edu/commencement.

    McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers for the 2024 undergraduate and graduate ceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 18. Undergraduate Commencement speaker is higher education leader Freeman A. Hrabowski III. Graduate coordinator Mona Kerby, the L. Stanley Bowlsbey Endowed Chair at McDaniel, will provide remarks during the graduate ceremony.

    McDaniel alumni give back with Data Analytics internship

    Alums John Sobanski ’99 and Kevin Worley ’00 connected with their alma mater to invite graduate students in the M.S. in Data Analytics program to intern with their company, Pyramid Systems Inc. They knew it was the right call when Data Analytics student Michael Eniolade interned with their team.

    McDaniel alum Mary Kay Connerton named 2024 Maryland Teacher of the Year

    Update as of 10.13.23: Mary Kay Connerton has been named the 2023-24 Maryland Teacher of the Year! Connerton, who earned McDaniel’s Administrator 1 Certificate in May 2019, teaches at Annapolis High School in Anne Arundel County.

    McDaniel College graduates the Class of 2023

    Among family and friends, 368 bachelor’s candidates crossed the stage to receive their degrees on May 20 during McDaniel College’s 153rd Commencement ceremony. Legendary Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and bestselling author Bob Woodward addressed the graduating class and an Honorary Doctor of Journalism was awarded to Stan Stovall, retired veteran journalist and news anchor with WBAL-TV (NBC Baltimore).

    Master’s students earn degrees at 153rd Commencement

    At McDaniel’s 2023 Graduate Commencement Ceremony, 281 students celebrated the achievement of earning their master’s degrees, conferred from 19 programs. Keynote speaker Sharon Love M.S. '76, founder of the One Love Foundation, shared the value of recognizing inner resiliency.
