Dr. Frederick John Kiemle '72 receives Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame Award

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Dr. Frederick John Kiemle of Mount Savage, Md., is a recipient of the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame award from McDaniel College. He is a 1972 alumnus of the college.
Presented annually during McDaniel’s Homecoming, the Green Terror Sports Hall of Fame award is presented to a graduate and former athlete who has performed outstandingly as an undergraduate athlete and who has contributed to society since leaving the college.
Dr. Kiemle majored in biology and was a member of the Beta Beta Beta biology honors society, as well as the Delta Pi Alpha fraternity. He was also a member of the Green Terror football, wrestling and track and field teams.
Honored among the college’s Fellowship of Champions, he was named freshman football player of the year in 1968, first-team defensive tackle for the Mason-Dixon Conference teams in 1969 and 1971, all-state defensive tackle in 1971 and served as team captain in 1971. He was also the Mason-Dixon 191 lb. wrestling champion in 1969-1970.
He graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1979 and opened his dental practice in Cumberland, Md., shortly after, where he still practices.
