Important campus update about classes after Spring Break

The health and well-being of our campus community remain our top priority. At this time, McDaniel has no reported cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Out of an abundance of caution, McDaniel College will move all on-campus, face-to-face undergraduate and graduate instruction to an online format for a two-week period following Spring Break. This will begin Monday, March 23.

The health and well-being of our campus community remain our top priority. At this time, McDaniel has no reported cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Out of an abundance of caution and in light of decisions made by the University System of Maryland and our regional peer institutions, McDaniel College will move all on-campus, face-to-face undergraduate and graduate instruction to an online format for a two-week period following Spring Break. This will begin Monday, March 23.

Off-campus graduate cohorts that teach face-to-face should continue to do so, unless otherwise notified.

When preparing for Spring Break, students should take all materials needed to resume coursework remotely, such as laptops, textbooks and notebooks. Students should also take all essential belongings, including medication and valuables, in case a sustained period will pass before they return to campus. In light of these changes, residence halls will now close at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. Requests to remain in campus housing during or after Spring Break due to extenuating circumstances may be directed to the Office of Residence Life at residencelife@mcdaniel.edu or at 410-857-2240.

Students completing student-teaching internships should continue to follow the guidance given by their home school system.

During this two-week period, campus offices will remain open, although campus activities may be impacted.

Travel restrictions as previously communicated remain in effect. For the most up-to-date travel restrictions and the travel registry, visit www.mcdaniel.edu/student-life/health-wellness/covid-19-coronavirus-information/covid-19-corona-virus-related-travel.

The McDaniel College Coronavirus Task Force continues to actively review this dynamic and evolving situation. Continue to visit the College’s COVID-19 (Coronavirus) webpage for new information and campus updates.

Please note this correspondence replaces the previously scheduled memorandum that was to be issued on Thursday, March 19.
