McDaniel College’s spring 2024 events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill.
McDaniel College’s spring 2024 campus events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill. All of the events are open to the public and most are free.
Some highlights include:
- Art exhibitions, music concerts, and theatre performances showcasing McDaniel faculty and students, including the "Biennial Faculty Exhibition" and "Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition," annual end-of-semester music concerts, and a student-directed performance of the classic myth "Eurydice" along with a production of comic actor and author Steve Martin's adaptation "The Underpants."
- Events honoring Black History Month and Women's History Month hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, including the Ira G. Zepp, Jr., Memorial Lecture featuring Black-Puerto Rican community organizer and independent journalist Rosa Clemente.
- Literary events organized by the English department, including the Bothe Poetry Reading by Mexican American award-winning poet and writer Gilbert Arzola and Shakespeare in the Square with readings, performances, and adaptations of his plays and poetry by McDaniel students and faculty.
- Lectures like the Global Forum hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Global Bridge, Wenner-Wingate Memorial Lecture with national sports journalist Kevin Blackistone hosted by the English department, and Rembert Lecture in Enterprise Economics hosted by the Economics and Business Administration department.
- Annual events like the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge, Academic Symposium, and McDaniel Cinema Showcase that highlight student academic experiences.
- College-wide events, such as One Hill, One Day, Alumni Weekend and the Alumni Association Awards Celebration, as well as Commencement and Commencement-related events.
- Plus, Admissions events for prospective students to discover McDaniel, the Green and Gold Golf Classic to support student-athletes, and Common Ground on the Hill Traditions Week and Roots Music & Arts Festival.
