McDaniel named to two more lists of top colleges
McDaniel College has again been recognized as one of the top colleges in the country by both Washington Monthly and Forbes.
McDaniel is among the top 10 master’s universities in the nation, according to Washington Monthly, and at the top of its “Best Bang for the Buck” list for the seventh consecutive year.
The College ranked #9 among the top 200 master’s universities and the #3 private institution on the list. McDaniel is the top-ranked master’s university in the state of Maryland. The top institutions are evaluated by the magazine for what they do for the country in terms of social mobility, research and service. From this perspective, the magazine says it “creates a very different definition of excellence” unlike other “wealth- and status-obsessed rankings.”
On the Northeast “Best Bang for the Buck” list, McDaniel ranks #21, a full 13 points higher than 2018, on the list of public and private institutions in the Northeast region. Noted for their best value, institutions on this list are recognized for “helping non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.”
On Forbes America’s Top Colleges list, McDaniel stands among the 650 best institutions in the nation. Forbes includes just “15 percent of the 4,300 degree-granting post-secondary institutions in the U.S., so appearing here at all is an indication that a school meets a high standard.”
Colleges that make the Forbes list are rated on the direct benefits that the schools provide their graduates, including alumni salaries, retention and graduation rates, debt after graduation and signs of individual academic and career success.
In addition to Washington Monthly and Forbes, The Princeton Review recently recognized McDaniel as one of “The Best 385 Colleges” in its 2020 annual college guide and also on its “Best Northeastern” colleges list. In another recent ranking, Money magazine recognized McDaniel among the nation’s 50 Best Small Colleges for quality and affordability.
