Don’t miss it!

The fair is completely online via Handshake and registration IS required--so claim your session now, and guarantee your chance to chat with your favorite organization. Sign up before they fill up!

To help you slay your session, we’re posting tips from McDaniel students on our CEO Instagram Stories and we have a detailed guide to virtual fairs. And if you get an interview as a result of the fair, we made this quick video just for you

Email us at ceo@mcdaniel.edu if you have any questions. Best of luck, you’re going to do great!

Associate Director of Career Development

Cook with Food Network finalist Chef Jyll Everman!

For this “Tasty Thursdays” special event, join Food Network Season 7 star finalist, Chef Jyll Everman, online as she prepares a vegetarian 3-course meal for the McDaniel community. She will be making cheese tortellini, shaved veggie salad, and a small desert -- if you would like to follow along, a list of suggested ingredients can be found here on the second image. This virtual event is open to students, faculty, and staff.

On Thursday, October 1st at 7 pm, tune in via Zoom:

Remember -- the Wellness Center is here for you!

We know that this semester continues to be like no other. In addition to the typical stressors of college, there are many new challenges associated with the reality of COVID and this moment in history. Please remember that the Wellness Center is still providing counseling services, even though the sessions are primarily provided over a video conferencing telehealth platform. Contact us at 410-857-2243 or wellness@mcdaniel.edu to set up an appointment.

And if your mental health needs are urgent and can’t wait, we still have a counselor on duty during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm) who can speak with you right away -- just give the office a call! We are here for you.

Play loteria, win prizes

The Office of Student Engagement & the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in collaboration with the Hispano Latinx Alliance will be hosting loteria on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020 at 7pm in the ROJ Student Center located across from the Pub.

“Loteria” means BINGO! Winners will receive various prizes, including gift cards to Del Huerto Mexican Grill. Masks and social distancing will be enforced. For any questions contact Manny Rodriguez at merodriguez@mcdaniel.edu

Register for the virtual SmartTalk

On Thursday, October 22nd, at 7pm, President Casey will lead a conversation with Ludley Howard ‘84, President and CEO of Pride Youth Services. Howard’s vision of creating effective, culturally competent services for African American youth and their families led to the founding of Pride Youth Services. He remains committed to empowering the lives of young people from diverse experiences and backgrounds. Click here to RSVP

Beautify campus with the Grounds crew (and get paid!)

The Grounds Department plays a vital role in keeping the Hill looking as spectacular as possible -- and they’re looking for PAID student workers to join their team! From helping with flower planting, to painting outdoor furniture, to assisting with projects on the athletic fields, there is plenty of work to be done. Find the job listing on Handshake and email Mike Lueking (mlueking@mcdaniel.edu) to learn more.

Totally unrelated sidenote: the first student reading this to email Amanda (agelber@mcdaniel.edu) with the word “comfy” wins a blanket.

Prepare to VOTE

From Monday, September 14th through Friday, October 16th, stop by the McDaniel Votes registration table near the Pub on the mid-level of the Roj Student Center.  A representative will be there on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 11am-2pm and 5pm-7pm, as well as on Fridays, from 11am-2pm. This is sponsored by Hoover Library, OSE, ODEI, McDaniel Political Science Dept, and Carroll County League of Women Voters.

Learn about the Environmental and Climate Justice Coalition

The first Environmental and Climate Justice Coalition (EJC) Info Session will be held on Wednesday, September 30th, from 3:30-4:30pm! The EJC will focus on how issues of injustice/oppression pair with environmental issues, plus identify ways to address these issues in our Westminster community, on McDaniel’s campus, and beyond.
