The theme for this year’s dinner is “Festivals” in celebration of different festivals that take place in Asian countries. In addition to Bollywood style dances, as well as the traditional Vietnamese fan dance, other performances incorporate songs, poetry, readings, comedic sketches and others. The event also includes an interactive photo booth courtesy of 2014 alumnus Jabraan Ismail of Taneytown, Md.
Tonae’ Hamilton, a senior from Fort Washington, Md., said, “The purpose of this event is to provide an interactive, fun, cultural experience to our guests, so that they can feel like they are celebrating an actual Asian festival…”
The menu for the dinner includes Dakgangjeong, Korean sweet crispy chicken with rice cake; Singaporean mee siam; Chinese chicken salad; Vietnamese deep fried spring rolls; and ice kacang, a Malaysian shaved ice cream.
