President Jasken was highlighted among “Women Leading Transformation.”

McDaniel College President Julia Jasken was a featured speaker Feb. 8 during the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU)’s Annual Meeting & Advocacy Day held in Washington, D.C.

President Jasken discussed the higher education landscape and what it means to be a visionary woman leader during the “Women Leading Transformation” panel session.

According to NAICU's description of the session:

Boards recognize that incremental improvement will not overcome the enrollment, technological and workforce trends that are disrupting most independent colleges. Increasingly trustees are turning to leaders with fresh approaches who assess opportunity quickly, build trust authentically and set direction decisively. Join us to learn how these three presidents are facing current challenges head-on while designing new models for independent higher education.

President Jasken was joined on the panel by President L. Song Richardson of Colorado College and President Jamel Santa Cruze Wright of Eureka College in Illinois.
