For the second consecutive year, President Julia Jasken has been named to the The Daily Record's Higher Education Power List.

She has been chosen by the editorial team of The Daily Record among the most influential figures in higher education in the State of Maryland.

According to The Daily Record editor Thomas Baden Jr., those on the list "are helping guide their institutions in the ever-changing field of education.”

As the 10th president of McDaniel, President Jasken is a champion of both the liberal arts and McDaniel’s student-centered mission. She has dedicated nearly her entire professional life to higher education and most notably to McDaniel, where she has taught as an English professor prior to serving in various administrative roles. During her time at the college, she has overseen many of the college’s strategic initiatives, including the McDaniel Commitment and she, most recently, launched "Reaching New Heights," a five-year strategic plan to further position McDaniel as an innovative liberal arts college focused on student achievement and professional success.

Also selected among Maryland's "Top 100 Women" by The Daily Record in 2022 and a "Woman to Watch" by the Baltimore Business Journal, she serves on the boards of HERS National Women's Leadership Network, Maryland Independent College and University Association, Baltimore’s CollegeBound Foundation, Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, and Chamber Music on the Hill.
