Theatre Arts students perform in college’s production of “The Importance of Being Earnest”

McDaniel College Theatre Arts presents the production of “The Importance of Being Earnest.” Performances are Wednesday, Nov. 17-Saturday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall.

Oscar Wilde’s masterful skewering of Victorian social etiquette, is filled with clever Victorian adages and Wilde’s patented brand of wit and wisdom. Oscar Wilde takes the world of Victorian social mores and turns it upside down in this enchanting romp.

The McDaniel production is directed by Elizabeth van den Berg, chair of the college’s theatre arts department, who notes, “I’m excited to work with our students to master the British upper-class dialect on this wonderful, witty, charming play.”

  • Corey Van Huff from Neptune City, NJ., as Algernon Moncrieff
  • Emma Walther from York, Pa., as Miss Prism
  • Matthew Zwick from Germantown, Md., as Lane
