McDaniel College's Department of Art and Art History presents, in celebration of the College's 150th anniversary, “Views of McDaniel,” a multi-disciplinary exhibition of student, faculty and local artists’ work that uses McDaniel as inspiration through Dec. 8 on campus in Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall.
The exhibition features artwork from several classes, including small oil sketches of abstract scenes around campus from painting class, select perspective drawings from the First Year Seminar Mark to Message: Drawing Now, stained glass window pieces from design class and legacy posters from computer graphics class.
The show also exhibits work from faculty and local artists, including photos of students working at the College’s Singleton Farm by Environmental Studies professor Jason Scullion, the campus map created by Graham Coriel-Allen for “Alternative Cartographies,” mixed media paintings by Art professor Steve Pearson and prints by Art professor emerita Susan Bloom.
The Rice Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. and Saturdays from noon–5 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public. For information and to confirm gallery hours, call 410-857-2595.
