Earn an accelerated M.S.T. with a $22,000 Teacher Collaborative Fellowship for spring 2025. The fellowship opportunity is limited to this cohort, so apply today!

After four semesters in the accelerated M.S.T. including a required yearlong internship with Carroll County Public Schools, you will be on the same path as hundreds of teacher education graduates from McDaniel — more than 90% of whom are still employed as teachers five years after graduation, far exceeding state and national averages.

To be eligible for the fellowship, you must enroll in the secondary (English, math, science, social studies) or PreK-12 (art, physical education, Spanish) tracks of the M.S.T. program.

Three aspiring teachers in the spring 2024 cohort for the Teacher Collaborative Fellowship are already in Carroll County Public School classrooms. "I couldn’t turn it down because it’s such a great program,” fellow Darrin Naill told the Carroll County Times, “and they actually pay you to go through the program. Whereas if I didn’t go that way, I would have to work an entire semester free."

"Especially with today’s generation of technology advancing, I think it’s more important we have teachers in the classroom who are passionate," fellow Nick Dixon '23 told the Carroll County Times.

What is the Teacher Collaborative Fellowship?

Awards of $22,000 per student used to cover tuition or living expenses*
Must be able to teach in Carroll County Public Schools throughout the program
Open to those with a bachelor’s degree or at least 30 credits in:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Social Studies (History, Political Science)
- Art
- Kinesiology
- Spanish
Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (2.75-2.99 considered for provisional admission)

*Please note: Admission to the M.S.T. program is not a guarantee of fellowship award. Fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis and is dependent on funding.

Why launch the Teacher Collaborative Fellowship program?

The accelerated M.S.T. and Teacher Collaborative Fellowship program supports the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, legislation passed in 2021 to support and improve education in Maryland over the next decade. McDaniel, in partnership with Carroll County Public Schools and Carroll County Education Association, is contributing to a major pillar of the Blueprint: produce high quality and diverse teachers and leaders.
