    Three incoming Class of 2026 students are the college’s newest Dorsey Scholars. The Dorsey Scholars Program is the highest academic honor at McDaniel and includes full tuition, room, and board for all four years.

    Five Baltimore City high school seniors surprised with full-tuition scholarships to McDaniel

    Representatives from McDaniel College, Baltimore City Public Schools, and the CollegeBound Foundation surprised five Baltimore City high school seniors with full-tuition scholarships to attend McDaniel as part of the class of 2026. They each received a scholarship covering tuition for all four years at McDaniel, valued at more than $160,000.

    Nine McDaniel students have been newly contracted into the Green Terror Battalion. Five earned Army ROTC Scholarships, which are awarded based on scholastic, athletic, and leadership attributes, while four students have contracted non-scholarship.

    McDaniel-CollegeBound Scholarships awarded to five Baltimore City high school seniors

    Representatives from McDaniel College and the CollegeBound Foundation surprised five Baltimore City high school seniors at their homes with full-tuition McDaniel-CollegeBound scholarships. The seniors from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Digital Harbor High School, and Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School will each receive full-tuition scholarships for all four years at McDaniel.

    McDaniel College’s Admissions Office along with the Green Terror surprised three incoming Class of 2025 students by announcing them as the college’s newest Dorsey Scholars. The Dorsey Scholars Program is the highest academic honor at McDaniel and includes full tuition, room, and board for all four years.

    Scholarship named for alumna now available for McDaniel Graduate students pursuing a Master’s in School Librarianship

    The Carolyn D. McGolerick Scholarship is now available for McDaniel College graduate students pursuing a School Librarianship master’s degree in partnership with The Community Foundation of Frederick County. The scholarship is named for a 1971 McDaniel (formerly Western Maryland) College alumna, Carolyn D. McGolerick, who served as a librarian at Fort Detrick and at St. John’s School in Emmitsburg, Md.
  • McDaniel offers the Alumni Legacy Scholarship, Educator’s Legacy Scholarship, and Military Legacy Scholarship.

    McDaniel College awards first-year and transfer students with legacy scholarships

    McDaniel College has awarded nearly 100 first-year and transfer students with legacy scholarships valued at up to $100,000 over four years. Any student who qualifies for McDaniel's Alumni Legacy Scholarship, Educator’s Legacy Scholarship, or Military Legacy Scholarship is automatically awarded the scholarship. The legacy scholarships provide alternative ways to make McDaniel accessible for a wide variety of families.
  • Army ROTC has been a tradition at the college since 1919, and the Green Terror Battalion is one of the oldest ROTC programs in the nation.

    Nine McDaniel College students receive Army ROTC Scholarships

    Nine students have earned Army ROTC Scholarships. The scholarships, which are awarded based on scholastic, athletic and leadership attributes, cover full tuition and fees, plus additional funds for books, as well as a monthly living stipend. The students will be commissioned as second lieutenants and will be required to serve on active duty in the Army Reserve or National Guard upon graduating from McDaniel.

    Rising junior Zachary Ruggerie receives national undergraduate scholarship

    Rising junior Zachary Ruggerie, a History major from York, Pa., has been awarded the Jo Anne J. Trow Scholarship from Alpha Lambda Delta for the 2020-21 academic year. Alpha Lambda Delta has awarded 50 Trow scholarships to outstanding students from across the country.

    Rising junior demonstrates passion for Public Service

    Rising junior Jessia Avila, who aspires to have a career in public service, has been selected as an inaugural Key into Public Service Scholar by The Phi Beta Kappa Society and as a Governor’s Summer Internship Program Fellow through Maryland Public Service Scholars Programs.
