    Commencement speakers announced for McDaniel's 2020 and 2021 ceremonies on Saturday, May 22

    McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients for both the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 22. The 2020 Commencement Speaker is McDaniel College President Roger N. Casey, the college’s ninth president who is retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year. The 2021 Commencement Speakers are Mary Lynn Durham and Bill Roj, both 1970 alumni, who supported the renovation of the college’s new Roj Student Center. The college also shares additional details about Commencement and Commencement-related events.

    Five professors named Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., Engaged Faculty Fellows

    Five professors have been named Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., Engaged Faculty Fellows in recognition of their exceptional commitment to their students, not only in classrooms and research labs but also with career and internship experiences. The Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., Engaged Faculty Fellows Award was established with a gift from Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., a 1978 alumnus of the college and current member of the McDaniel Board of Trustees.
  • Three incoming freshmen surprised with Dorsey Scholarships

    McDaniel College’s Admissions Office along with the Green Terror surprised three incoming Class of 2025 students by announcing them as the college’s newest Dorsey Scholars. The Dorsey Scholars Program is the highest academic honor at McDaniel and includes full tuition, room, and board for all four years.

    Writing for Children and Young Adults lecturer wins national children’s book award

    Annette Bay Pimentel, an online lecturer for McDaniel College’s Writing for Children and Young Adults, has won a national award for her children’s book titled “All the Way to the Top: How One Girl’s Fight for Americans with Disabilities Changed Everything.” Pimentel teaches “Nonfiction: Writing for Grades PreK-12” and “Writing Workshop for Children and Young Adults Books” for the online program.

    McDaniel College announces Fall 2020 dean's list

    McDaniel College announces its Fall 2020 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

The Daily Record’s Leading Women awards recognize women who are 40 or younger for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. Druckenmiller, the founder and chief executive officer of Unmuted, LLC, is an award-winning and nationally-recognized thought leader with over a dozen years of experience in the field of workplace wellbeing and culture.

    McDaniel College recognized for excellence in grounds maintenance

    The Professional Grounds Management Society® (PGMS®) has recognized McDaniel College for excellence in grounds maintenance. The college received an Honor Award from PGMS in the 2020 Green Star Awards® competition.

    Students virtually inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society

    The Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society inducted 35 McDaniel students on Sunday, Oct. 18 through a national virtual ceremony. McDaniel students and families participated in the virtual induction ceremony with other chapters throughout the country. Alpha Lambda Delta (First Year Seminar) recognizes students who completed their first year at McDaniel with a 3.7 grade point average (GPA) or higher.

    Hundreds of McDaniel alumni connect virtually to celebrate Homecoming at Home

    More than 1,000 alumni from the 1960s through 2020, undaunted by the pandemic, traveled thousands of miles through cyberspace to come home to the Hill for Homecoming 2020. Casting the Green Terror-tory net literally around the globe via Zoom and Facebook, alumni shared their college-days photos in a treasure hunt, tested their memory with Pub trivia, celebrated alumni award and Sports Hall of Fame winners, discovered what’s new at McDaniel, and learned how to make their alma mater’s now signature cocktails, West on RT 140 and The Green Terror.
