Christine Moran joins McDaniel as associate vice president of Student Success, bringing over 25 years of experience in education to the college. Prior to joining McDaniel, she served as vice provost of Student Success and dean of Education at Stevenson University.
McDaniel College’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously to endorse the college’s next five-year strategic plan, “Reaching New Heights: McDaniel College Strategic Plan 2022-2027," which further positions McDaniel as an innovative liberal arts college focused on student achievement and professional success.
Alumnus Martin Camper '07 returns to McDaniel on Wednesday, Oct. 26, to speak as part of the college’s Holloway Lecture. Titled “How to (not) Argue for Constitutional Rights: Lessons from Lawrence and Obergefell,” the lecture takes place at 7:30 p.m. in McDaniel Hall's Coley Rice Lounge.
“There is a beauty to stage lighting — it’s a work of art. The time and effort that goes into it is very inspirational,” says Kim Parson, junior Theatre Arts major, who was awarded a 2022 Collier Robert Woods, Jr. Scholarship to support her pursuits in lighting design.
McDaniel College hosted the dedication of the newly named Coley Rice Lounge, formerly McDaniel Lounge, for former McDaniel College President Joan Develin Coley and her husband, M. Lee Rice '48, a trustee emeritus of the college.
While making compounds and refining solutions, McDaniel students learn to define the role of the chemist — and find it to be limitless. Supported by Chemistry faculty in classrooms and research labs, students prepare for fulfilling careers in the sciences.
McDaniel College hosted the official unveiling of the McDaniel Environmental Center, an outdoor learning lab developed by students to engage in hands-on educational opportunities in agriculture, conservation, and environmental sciences, as well as community building. Additionally, McDaniel has received $2.3 million from the State of Maryland to fund educational environmental spaces and the college has introduced a new bachelor's degree in Food Studies this fall.
McDaniel College Theatre Arts presents “Wintertime," directed by adjunct lecturer Richard Sautter. Performances are Thursday, Sept. 29-Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. on the WMC Alumni Hall Mainstage.
