McDaniel College’s Spring 2023 events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill.
McDaniel College’s Spring 2023 campus events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill. All of the events are open to the public and most are free.
Some highlights include:
- Art exhibitions, music concerts, and theatre performances showcasing McDaniel faculty and students, including “Home and Garden” featuring works by Assistant Professor of Art Chloe Irla ’07, Senior Capstone Exhibition One and Senior Capstone Exhibition Two, and “Heathers The Musical.”
- Events honoring Black History Month, such as the Black History Month Lunchtime Movie Series, Black Business Expo, and Black History Month Convocation featuring Maia Chaka, the NFL’s first Black woman referee.
- A series of lectures including the P.I.E. Guest Speaker Series, Cultural Speaker Series, Phi Beta Kappa Lecture, and Bothe Poetry Reading with poet and memoirist Christine Lincoln.
- The “Picture a Scientist” documentary and discussion to kick off Women’s History Month and the annual McDaniel Cinema Showcase of student-produced fiction and documentary films.
- College-wide events, such as One Hill, One Day, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge, and the Academic Symposium with McDaniel faculty, staff, and students showcasing their scholarship and academic experience, as well as Commencement and Commencement-related events.
- Plus, Admissions events for prospective students to discover McDaniel, the Green and Gold Golf Classic to support student-athletes, and Common Ground on the Hill Traditions Weeks and Roots Music & Arts Festival and Deer Creek Fiddlers’ Convention.
