McDaniel hosts Homecoming 2024

McDaniel College alumni, students, families, and community members celebrate Homecoming 2024 on Nov. 1 and 2 with Homecoming traditions, including tailgating at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium while Green Terror football takes on Ursinus College. Other home athletic contests for swimming and field hockey also take place. Additionally, the Green & Gold Challenge, a weeklong competition to support McDaniel's student-athletes, runs Oct. 30 through Nov. 6.

McDaniel College alumni, students, families, and community members celebrate Homecoming 2024.

Homecoming weekend kicks off Friday, Nov. 1, with the McDaniel College Athletics Hall of Fame Celebration. The 2024 recipients are:

  • Tony Howard '06 (Men's Wrestling)
  • Stephen James '82 (Football and Baseball)
  • Rachel Walega '12 (Women's Swimming)
  • Jason Wingeart '02 (Football)
  • Tony Worm '99 (Men's Golf)

Various alumni events, starting with the Baseball Alumni Game at 9:30 a.m. at Preston Field, take place on Saturday, Nov. 2. Other highlights include the third annual brunch hosted by the DEI Committee of the Alumni Council and a tour of the Black Student Union (BSU) Clubroom along with the Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony.

McDaniel Admissions hosts Game Day for Green Terrors at 10 a.m. (advance registration required). 

Homecoming traditions, including the presentation of the Homecoming court, naming the winner of the Letters on the Hill contest, and awarding the James Brant Memorial Cup to the McDaniel fraternity or sorority that excels in academics, varsity sports, leadership, and community service, occur pre-game of the football game before Green Terror football takes on Ursinus College at 1 p.m. at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium. 

Plus, in addition to the alumni tailgating tent during the game, featured tailgates include Alpha Nu Omega’s 45th anniversary celebration, Groovy 70s tailgate, Football 1999 Centennial Conference championship 25th anniversary, and the McDaniel Women's Leadership Network.

Additionally, home athletic contests include swimming vs. Penn State Altoona at 11 a.m. at Harlow Pool and field hockey vs. Bryn Mawr College at 6 p.m. at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium.
