My Career

During your junior or senior year, you will complete a one-credit course, My Career, designed to guide you through your next steps for professional success. In My Career, you'll plan for life beyond college, guided by purposeful coursework and with one-on-one coaching.

Earn Academic Credit

Recognizing that learning that occurs during internships, academic departments may award credit for an internship related to your career goals. To start, students must receive approval from a faculty sponsor; forms can be picked up from the Registrar’s Office.

Special Academic Opportunities

Build your resume on campus with a variety of special academic opportunities, like student-faculty research, pre-professional studies, and programs like the National Security Fellows and Global Fellows.

Can you help me find a job on campus?

The McDaniel employment page is the resource for all on-campus and work-study jobs. Our office can help you find opportunities within walking distance if you have trouble finding a job on campus,

I'm not sure what I want to do after college. What do you recommend?

Better understand your skills, aptitude, and talents with a free online assessment. We recommend Holland Code (takes 10-15 minutes) and 16Personalities (takes 10-20 minutes). When you are finished taking an assessment, schedule an appointment to meet with a career counselor to receive coaching on your next steps.

Are your services available to alumni?

Yes – our services remain free of charge after you graduate from McDaniel College. Let us help you discover how to advance your career in today’s marketplace.
