McDaniel College’s Fall 2023 events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill.
McDaniel College’s Fall 2023 campus events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill. All of the events are open to the public and most are free.
Some highlights include:
- College-wide celebrations including Homecoming and Parent and Family Weekend, plus McDaniel is a proud sponsor of Westminster Fallfest, an annual community tradition, and will be kicking off the Fallfest parade.
- Lectures by noted scholars in their fields, including Corey D. B. Walker, humanities professor at Wake Forest, Alisha Knight, professor of English and American studies and associate provost for diversity and inclusion at Washington College, and Psyche Williams-Forson, professor and chair of the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park.
- Discussions for Constitution Day and on “Navigating Higher Ed in the Current DEIJ Climate and Supreme Court Decisions: Lessons, Experience, and Wisdom.”
- Cultural experiences, including celebrations for Hispanic/LatinX/Latiné Heritage, LGBTQIA+ History, and Native American Heritage months, among other events, hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as an evening of Turkish music with well-known Turkish musician and scholar Latif Bolat.
- Various Music and Theatre performances showcasing McDaniel faculty and students.
- "Light and Color, Space and Place: Landscape Painting on Site" exhibition including landscapes inspired by student-faculty summer research in Art.
- Admissions events for prospective students to discover McDaniel.
