    Faculty and staff celebrated at Seniority Recognition and Arch Awards Ceremony

    The McDaniel College community gathered Nov. 19 for the college’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon and to honor 62 faculty and staff who celebrated a combined 920 years of service to the college. Additionally, the three winners of the 2024 Arch Award for Exemplary Staff Service were announced.

    Registration opens for McDaniel College's Carroll County Scholars program

    All current 8th and 10th grade students in Carroll County are invited to enroll to participate in receiving college search support and a $100,000 scholarship to McDaniel College through Carroll County Scholars. The Carroll County Scholars program provides assistance to Carroll County students as they navigate the college search process.

    Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores honored with academic and leadership awards

    Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores were recognized at the Undergraduate Awards Ceremony for earning awards for academic achievement and leadership during the 2023-24 academic year. Students were also named to prestigious academic and leadership honor societies, including Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Trumpeters.

    McDaniel students perform William Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure”

    McDaniel College Theatre presents “Measure for Measure,” William Shakespeare’s darkest comedy. Performances are Thursday, Nov. 21-Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre in WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show contains adult material and is intended for mature audiences.

    First-year and transfer students awarded Educator's and Military Legacy Scholarships

    McDaniel College has awarded more than 100 first-year and transfer students with Educator's and Military Legacy Scholarships valued at up to $132,000, or $33,000 annually over four years. Any student who qualifies for McDaniel's Educator’s Legacy Scholarship or Military Legacy Scholarship is automatically awarded the scholarship.

  • Popham scholarship

    Alumni create scholarship program for Glen Burnie High School graduates studying at McDaniel

    Alumni couple Bryson and Carol Popham, who both graduated from the college in 1973, created the Mildred R. Popham Scholarship in honor of Bryson’s mother. Up to four $10,000 annual scholarships will be awarded starting in the 2025-26 academic year to graduates of Glen Burnie High School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, with preference given to students planning to major or minor in Education.

    Homecoming 2024 celebrated on the Hill

    Alumni, students, families, and community members came together to celebrate Homecoming 2024 with various alumni events, as well as by cheering on the Green Terror. Homecoming traditions, including the presentation of the Homecoming Court, awarding the James Brant Memorial Cup, and naming the winners of the Letters on the Hill contest, took place during pre-game of the Homecoming football game, as well as the reveal that the college plans to renovate the outdoor track and field facility at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium.

    Seasonal concert features students, alumni, faculty, and community musicians

    Organized by Senior Adjunct Lecturer Shelley Ensor, “McDaniel for the Holidays” features McDaniel students, alumni, and faculty, as well as community members, in a program celebrating the holiday season. The free performance takes place Sunday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. in Baker Memorial Chapel.

    Four Elementary Education majors presented on math teaching strategies at the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics conference held Oct. 18. Alumni of McDaniel’s Education programs were also represented among the conference presentations and award winners.
