Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores honored with academic and leadership awards

Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores were recognized at the Undergraduate Awards Ceremony for earning awards for academic achievement and leadership during the 2023-24 academic year. Students were also named to prestigious academic and leadership honor societies, including Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Trumpeters.

Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores were honored for academic achievement and leadership at the Undergraduate Awards Ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 17, during Parent and Family Weekend

Students were also recognized for being named to prestigious academic and leadership honor societies, including Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Beta Kappa, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Trumpeters.

Additionally, Kyla Farmer '24, who graduated cum laude with departmental honors in Social Work, was acknowledged for receiving the Griswold-Zepp Award from the Center for Experience and Opportunity (CEO) in spring 2024. The Griswold-Zepp Award can total up to $3,000 for proposed volunteer experiences of McDaniel students that address the needs of local, regional, national, or worldwide communities.

The first Griswold-Zepp Award was given in 1991 and was established to honor Earl Griswold and Ira Zepp, long-time faculty advisors for Student Opportunities Service (SOS)/Hinge, community service and volunteerism groups on campus in the 1960-70s. The award selection process focuses on projects most strongly exemplifying the true spirit of volunteerism and community service.
