    Junior selected as Innovators of Progress Fellow

    Business Administration major Javon Spencer was selected for a fellowship with Innovators of Progress, a pre-accelerator program designed to support entrepreneurial college students with up to $140,000. Spencer is the first McDaniel College student to receive an Innovators of Progress Fellowship.

    Speakers announced for 2024 undergraduate and graduate Commencement ceremonies

    McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers for the 2024 undergraduate and graduate ceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 18. Undergraduate Commencement speaker is higher education leader Freeman A. Hrabowski III. Graduate coordinator Mona Kerby, the L. Stanley Bowlsbey Endowed Chair at McDaniel, will provide remarks during the graduate ceremony.

    McDaniel students inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society

    Students were inducted April 8 into the Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society at McDaniel College. Omicron Delta Kappa was installed at the college in 1963.

    McDaniel College students inducted into Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society

    Students were inducted April 5 into McDaniel College's Alpha Mu Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society. There were two inductees for associate membership and 10 for active membership. Ben Smith, director of the McDaniel College STEM Center, was also inducted as an honorary member.

    Record-breaking donations raised through One Hill, One Day, annual giving campaign

    Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends showed their support for current and future McDaniel students during One Hill, One Day, McDaniel's annual giving campaign. The entire McDaniel community came together this year to raise $462,842 from 700 donors.

    National sports journalist Kevin Blackistone presents Wenner-Wingate Memorial Lecture

    Wenner-Wingate Memorial Lecture at McDaniel College features national sports journalist Kevin Blackistone, commentator for The Washington Post, who speaks on sport myths and social justice. The lecture, titled "Don’t Believe the Type: Sport in American History," takes place Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in Coley Rice Lounge, McDaniel Hall. It is free and open to the public.

    Art department displays first of two capstone exhibitions

    "I Am Who? This is Me.” is the first of two Art capstone exhibitions at McDaniel. The exhibition runs Tuesday, April 2-Friday, April 19, in McDaniel’s Esther Prangley Rice Gallery in Peterson Hall. An opening reception takes place Friday, April 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.

    Recent accolades celebrate women's leadership

    McDaniel College has been recognized on the Executive Alliance’s Honor Roll among the colleges and universities in Maryland with the most representation by women on their boards and executive leadership teams. Additionally, McDaniel College President Julia Jasken has been selected by the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland as a recipient of their Distinguished Women Awards.

    On March 24, 24 students were inducted into McDaniel College's Delta of Maryland Chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation’s oldest academic honor society.

    Art students showcase their best artwork in college's annual juried exhibition

    Winners were announced during the opening reception of the Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition on Friday, March 22. The exhibition runs through Friday, March 29, in Esther Prangley Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall.
