    Winners were announced during the opening reception of the Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition on Friday, March 22. The exhibition runs through Friday, March 29, in Esther Prangley Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall.

    Family establishes scholarship in memory of Norman "Trey" Alva Armstrong III

    The $25,000 scholarship fund establishes an endowed scholarship in memory of Norman "Trey" Alva Armstrong III, who came to McDaniel in fall 2019 and majored in Business Administration before taking a leave of absence in his senior year due to a recurrence of childhood leukemia. The scholarship will be awarded annually starting in the 2024-25 academic year.

    McDaniel expands offerings provided by nationally recognized Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS)

    McDaniel’s Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS), a national leader in working with students with documented disabilities, expands offerings to enhance support available to students within the program. This includes the addition of a mental health counselor embedded within the program and other exclusive opportunities just for SASS students beginning in fall 2024.

    Mexican American award-winning poet and writer Gilbert Arzola delivers annual Bothe Poetry Reading

    McDaniel College hosts the 35th annual B. Christopher Bothe Memorial Lecture with Mexican American award-winning poet and writer Gilbert Arzola. The event takes place on Tuesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m., in Coley Rice Lounge, McDaniel Hall. It is free and open to the public.

    New Early Childhood Education undergraduate major begins fall 2024

    McDaniel College announces that a new Early Childhood Education undergraduate major has received approval to begin fall 2024. This new major expands McDaniel’s education offerings to prepare undergraduate students to teach infants, toddlers, and young children, which is a focus of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.

    Common Ground on the Hill receives Maryland State Arts Council award

    Common Ground on the Hill, in residence at McDaniel College, received the Maryland State Arts Council's Heritage Award in the Tradition category for the Deer Creek Fiddlers' Convention. Common Ground on the Hill was founded in 1994 by Walt Michael '68 who assumed directorship of the Deer Creek Fiddlers' Convention in 2011.

    McDaniel College hosts events for Women's History Month

    A lecture by community organizer Rosa Clemente on Tuesday, March 5, and a celebration for International Women's Day on Friday, March 8, mark Women's History Month at McDaniel College. Both events are organized by McDaniel's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and are free and open to the public.

    Theatre Arts students direct and perform in production of “Eurydice”

    McDaniel College Theatre Arts students direct and perform in a production of “Eurydice," a reimagining of the classic myth of Orpheus told through the eyes of its heroine. Performances are Thursday, Feb. 29-Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Elderdice Studio Theatre in WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show contains themes of death and grief; may use fog.

    McDaniel Athletics announces Skyler Fultz '11 as new head football coach

    McDaniel alum Skyler Fultz '11 has been selected as McDaniel College's new head football coach. Fultz is the 28th head coach in the 133-year history of Green Terror football and the 10th alum to lead the program. He has spent the last nine years at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, including the 2023 season as head coach.
