The McDaniel College community gathered for a Thanksgiving luncheon and celebration of over 160 faculty and staff who celebrated a combined 2,585 years of service completed over the last three years. The seniority recognition ceremony was postponed in 2019 due to the renovations occurring in the Roj Student Center, and 2020’s ceremony was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Faculty, staff, and administration were finally able to gather on Nov. 16, 2021, to recognize three years’ worth of faculty and staff members celebrating 10 years or more of service to the college.
Additionally, more than 20 employees were nominated for the 2021 Arch Award for Exemplary Staff Service, which recognizes staff members for outstanding service to the college. The three winners were announced at the ceremony and will receive a cash bonus for their hard work. Many well-deserved congratulations to:
- Kathy Edmondson, academic secretary in the English department, who has been with the college since 2010
- Jason Haines, grounds equipment operator, who has been with the college since 2014
- Aza Smith, financial aid specialist, who has been with the college since 2019.
